Whip-It-Up: Week 1

Today was an interesting day. I woke up at 7am and couldn't go back to sleep. So I got up and read a little Bill Bryson, added some photos to my previous posts and got ready for the day. I ran a bunch of errands, went shopping, had brunch and did the 1st recipe for Whip-It-Up.

I have to say, I was a little nervous as I've never really cooked before. I've made eggs and bacon and other breakfast items. I've made lots of salads (and I'm good at that), cooked the occasional pasta and pan-fried some beef and chicken before but I have never followed a recipe and made a meal.

With a little help from Jason, (he did the chopping of the onion, garlic and parsley plus the clean up!) I went for it. I have to admit, cooking wasn't too bad! During the process, I was a little stressed out by the mess in the kitchen but once I saw the finished product, I was stoked! It look great and it tasted pretty darn good, if I may say so myself. I was particularly proud of the chicken, as I was afraid I may have overcooked it but it was quite tasty. :)

The recipe was easy to follow, but I definitely would change some stuff to suit my taste. Also, the recipe for Easy Tomato Sauce resulted in way more sauce than indicated so I will definitely take that into account for next time.

I would definitely make this again in the future and now I know how to make breaded chicken! :) Now I have to think about what to make for next week...

  1. Hey, that look pretty yummy! I'm definitely enjoying the read so keep it up. And yeah, cupcake recipes usually yield too much icing/frosting too =)

  2. Aileen! Yeah, it was quite tasty for sure! I would not put as much parsley as I'm not a bug fan of it. =)

    See easier than you thought?
Did you do this from scratch? Or follow a recipe?
